How do you treasure hunt in the "off season"

Some people hunt coin rolls, some people pan gold concentrates, and some people hit the flea markets in their area for hidden treasures. During this time of year, many of us in the US deal with weather conditions that are not cooperative. Harsh winds, snow, ice, and ground that is like cement. So how do we pass the time until the weather improves?

We'll discuss this dilemma Friday night January 7th at 8pm EST. Call in with your methods, tips, and stories at 718-508-9444. And catch the show live by clicking HERE.

Or you can listen to the show right here on TreasureHunterRadio.com

Until then... HH

Discover buried gold and silver with your digital camera?

Next time you plan your next metal detecting excursion, you may want to bring along a laptop and a digital camera. Because these tools may very well help you find more silver and gold buried underfoot.

"The Successful Treasure Hunter's Secret Manual - Discovering Treasure Auras in the Digital Age" provides you with the information you need to start detecting and recovering buried gold and silver.

All buried metals, produce some form of electromagnetic radiation or aura. These auras can not be seen with the naked eye, but can be picked up on a digital camera.

I have a request in to the author - David Villanueva - to see if he will come on an upcoming THR broadcast. I will keep you up to date if we can work something out. No doubt it will be an interesting conversation.

You can purchase his book by clicking here.

Beautiful Weather is Predicted for this years GTHC Open Hunt!

And I can not wait!

Bright and early on Saturday May 22, I will pack up my ACE 250, a somewhat healthy lunch, and enough water to choke a camel, and head on down to Onset Beach, Massachusetts.

I will be participating in the Gateway Treasure Hunters Club annual Open Hunt. The beach will be seeded with clad coins, silver coins, and prize tokens. And each hunt will have a prize of a brand new metal detector. So it should be a blast!

In April, I participated in my first open hunt. Organized by the Massachusetts Treasure Hunters Association. Came home with a bunch of clad and a few nice silver coins. No prize tokens tho, however I predict that will change on Saturday's hunt.

I will post pictures of the event from my Blackberry when I am there.

Until Saturday - Happy Hunting!

Off to Cape Cod for detecting and golf!

It's Friday and with the forecast looking beautiful this weekend, I have decided to pack up the ACE 250 and head down to Cape Cod for a visit with my folks, some detecting, and then a round of golf with my Brother on Saturday.

The first time I detected my parents property, I found a 1865 Indian Head penny. What was even more amazing is that it was buried only an inch in the soil. I know there is silver buried down there as well. As the property dates back to 1800's. So who knows, maybe I will see that shiny silver today!

Anyway, I will post via my blackberry any finds and updates, so stay tuned.
